IRISH, Harry William - Peacefully at Versa Care on Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 in his 90th year. Loving husband of his 1st wife, the late Eleanor Byrne (1966) and his 2nd wife, the late Beatrice Schaaf (2001). Caring father of James and his wife Vicki, Gary and his wife April, Joan and her husband Peter Olszowy, Rosemary, Paul and his wife Marisa. Step-father of Richard Foxall, Kathryn Shannon and Beth Dopp. Dear grandfather of Vanessa, Eamon, Amanda, Brandon, Erin, Meagan, Rebecca, Marcus, Luke, Mattia, Kayla and 6 step- grandchildren. Great grandfather of Gavin Hoyle. Harry is also survived by 3 sisters, Elsie Casey, Edna Hollier, Eva Hunter, and many other family and friends. Predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy, Florence, Margaret, Roy, Bill, Ken, and Jim. Harry was a decorated veteran of World War II. He was a founding member and Past President of the Brant Artillery “Gunners“ Club, a director of the Brant County Memorial Committee, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 90 for over 60 years, and a member of the Branch 90 Poppy Committee. Harry was a letter carrier for Canada Post for 36 years. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Veteran's Service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. with the Gunner's Club officiating. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations to the St. Joseph's Lifecare Foundation - Stedman Hospice would be appreciated.
