ANTONIO, Anthony J “Tony the Fruitman on Main Street“ April 26, 1916 - November 28, 2007 He unloaded the truck, he covered the bananas with a sheet so they would ripen. He donned his Saucony runners, his favourite toque and with his exactor picks for Fort Erie in his pocket, he jogged his last mile to heaven. Loving husband of 68 years to Inez (Matthews). Dear father of James (Suzanne) and Janice and cherished grandfather of Jacob, Jordan and Rachel Wilson-Antonio. Mr. Antonio is survived by his two sisters Mary Alfieri and Carmel Popowich, his sisters-in-law Flora Antonio and Joyce Antonio and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Gasparino and Sara Antonio, his brothers Jim and Peter, his sisters Gert Dagonese and her husband Joe and Nora D'Anna and her husband Sam and his brothers-in-law Sam Alfieri and Mike Popowich. We the family wish to thank Dr. Chong, Grace and Rachel for the greatest of care and also the nurses in the Trillium Ward at G.N.G.H. With respect to his most private wishes a family burial has taken place. A celebration of life Mass will take place at a future date.
