SANFORD, Mary (Moran) - At the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, Mary Sanford died peacefully at the age of 89 after a short illness. Our Mary was a warm and friendly lady who enjoyed speaking to people wherever she met them, riding the bus, traveling home to England and was a lover of animals. She was a faithful and participating member of St. Columba Anglican Church. She will be remembered and mourned by her sister-in-law and nephew, Lily and John Moran of Deal, England, her nephew, Dennis Moran of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, foster children, Melvin Chevalier and Daphne Griffin of St. Paul's River, Quebec and god-child, Ann Jaff of London, England, along with other relatives and friends both here and in Quebec. She is predeceased by her husband, Brenton (Sandy) Sanford (1991) and her parents, Elizabeth and Thomas Moran, brothers Dennis, Thomas and William. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at St. Columba Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2007. Special thanks to Dr. John Ramanauskas, St. Catharines Place staff, and to the nurses and Sister Louise of the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
