NELSON, Helen Louise (nee Barkwill) - Passed away peacefully at Versa Care Centre on Sunday November 25th, 2007 at the age of 83. Predeceased by her husband Bill Nelson (1984). Leaving to mourn this feisty little lady are her brother Jack (Mary) Barkwill, and sisters Dorothy Currie and Audrey Kitchingman. Helen leaves a legacy of five children Lois (Lewis 1999) Anderson, Jim (2001) (Joan) Nelson, Aurel (Paul) James, Walter (Sharon) Smart, and Ivan (Susan) Smart, along with 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren. She has left us with a wonderful example of a fighting spirit. “In Thee there is no dread of death, but life for evermore.“ Many thanks to the nurses at Versa Care for their TLC. A Memorial Service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Main St., Port Dalhousie on Saturday December 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Andrew's United Church, Port Dalhousie or The Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
