Susan S. BURKE

BURKE, Susan S. Born in Mayo, Quebec on October 6, 1904; passed away peacefully at Sarsfield Nursing Home November 20, 2007, where she received kind and loving care for five years. Although Susan spent most of her life nursing in Plattsburg, New York, she will be remembered in Mayo and Buckingham for having taken time out (in the '40s) to care for her aged parents and her brothers motherless children. Never one to miss a family affair, she will be missed by nieces Alvina Haley (Sudbury), Marina Harris (Buckingham), Thelma (Pierre) Lessard (Orleans) and nephew (Mervin) Bud (Rose) Burke (Carlisle), as well as her 17 grand nieces and nephews, 23 great grand nieces and nephews and 1 great, great grandnephew. Predeceased by her parents Anthony and Anne Burke, sister Ruth Dunnigan (1997), brother Albert Burke (1982), niece Phyillis (Burton) Gorman (2000) and nephew Basil Dunnigan (Jean) (2005). Funeral arrangements by Brunet Funeral Home, 115 Maclaren Est, Buckingham J8L 1J9. Visitation Friday, November 23, 7-10 pm. Funeral mass in Mayo church, Saturday 10 am. Burial in Mayo Cemetery.
