HOLMES, Elizabeth G. (Betty) March 11, 1912 - November 22, 2007 After 95 years of a life well-lived, Betty passed away peacefully at her residence in Carleton Lodge on Thursday, November 22, 2007. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, Douglas in 1991; by her younger brother Richard (Dick) Ebinger in 2006; and by her younger sister Vida Hopson in 2007. She was born in Staunton, Indiana and came to Ottawa with her parents, Rev. Leo and Gertrude Ebinger in 1916. Left to carry on her legacy are her two sons, Robert (Barbara) and David (Heather). Betty will be missed by her four grandchildren, Donald Holmes, Catherine Delorme (Denis), Heather Delle Monache (Joe) and Ian Holmes (Mellissa) and also her five great-grandchildren Michelle and Eric Delorme, Mitchell and Alex Delle Monache and Oliver Holmes. Many relatives, including the Hopson, Ebinger and Perrin families (in Canada and the U.S.A.) mourn her death. A private service is planned for the spring with burial of cremated remains at South Gower Cemetery.
