AKER, MARY "EMMA" (BASQUE) The passing of Mary "Emma" (Basque) Aker, wife of the late, Kenneth Aker, of Stanley, NB, occurred on November 9, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 3, 1946 in Chatham, NB, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Pauline (Breau) Basque. Emma was a teachers assistant, an avid gardener, outdoors person and vice president of the CWL. Emma is survived close friend, Patrick Flynn; son, Keith Aker (Tabitha) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Rudi and Kendin; one brother, Allan Basque of Hamilton, ON; five sisters, Marcella Laaper of Fredericton, NB, Norma Cleveland of McGivney, NB, Deanna Basque of Hillsborough, NB, Delphine Hammond of Calgary, AB and Rachel Johnson (Bill) of Fredericton, NB. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, John; one daughter, Natalie; four brothers, Jimmy, John, Michael and Leander. Visitation will take place at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Stanley, NB on Monday from 10 am to 12 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 1 pm, with Father Maurice Swift as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stanley, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the St. Patrick's Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
