ELLIOTT, ODBUR EDWIN At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on November 16th, Odbur Edwin Elliott, passed away peacefully. He just celebrated his 90th birthday. He lived his entire life on "Brick Hill" in Marysville (Fredericton), NB. He was the son of the late Leander and Zella (Gibson) Elliott and husband of Freda Venner-Elliott. Odbur was predeceased by his first wife, Marguerite (Blunston). He is survived by his sons, Carl (Barb)(Kolding) and Brian (Anne Arnold); grandchildren, Heather, Dawn, Edward; and his daughter, Bailey, (Odbur's great grand-daughter). He is also survived by his second wife, Freda (Venner- Elliott); her children, DeDe (Donnie) Carol (Leslie), Judy, Susan (Karl) and their families. Odbur is also survived by his brother, Norbert (Pauline) cousins, nieces and nephews. Odbur was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Baseball Team that won the Maritime Championship in 1937. He was involved for many years as a Town Councillor for Marysville where he has a Street named after him. He started his work life at The Cotton Mill and then joined Gibson's on Queen Street. When the Business moved to York St. he was one of the owners. He worked there until he retired, at the age of 78, when the business was sold. He truly enjoyed the many people he met. Odbur was an excellent father, and family man. He will be remembered for his honest advice, hunting stories at the camp, helping family and friends. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Sunday, November 18th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 19th, at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. No flowers by request.
