George William HAGERMAN

HAGERMAN, GEORGE WILLIAM George W. Hagerman of Barony, NB passed away November 19th, 2007 at Carleton Manor. George was born in Upper Caverhill in 1923, a son of the late Wilson and Edith (Thompson) Hagerman. He volunteered for the armed forces in 1941, serving four years with the North Shore Regiment and was proficient on the shooting range. He began working in Massachusetts, returning to New Brunswick in 1951 to establish a tree-trimming business working for NB Power. George employed many family and friends to man the nine trucks he owned. He later was employed with his skidder in woodswork for Valley Forest. He was a "jack of all trades", being a carpenter, a mechanic and plumber. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, billiards, darts, Yahtzee, crossword puzzles and Auction 45. He owned and enjoyed antique cars, especially convertibles. At home he followed the news by watching the 10 o'clock National and always fell asleep reading the Reader's Digest. George is survived by his wife, Wilma M. (Cunningham) Hagerman; five sons, Robert Forbes (Diana), Fredericton, Tony Forbes, Chelsea, Quebec, Greg Hagerman, Barony, Keith Hagerman (Amy) and Kevin Hagerman (Rose), both of Woodstock; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Liston, Barony and Della White (Ward), Fredericton; two brothers, Harry Hagerman, Temperance Vale and Alfred Hagerman, Campbell Settlement and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Clark, Pearl Carten and infant Pauline and three brothers, Norman, Donald and Harold Hagerman. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, November 21st, 2007 at 2 pm. with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will be at Barony Cemetery. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:45 at the funeral home.
