PURVIS, Norman Harold C.D. WWII Veteran - 27 Years Military Service - Peacefully at the Fairmount Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family on December 12, 2007 in his 89th year. Norman was born on December 17, 1918 in Kingston and was the son of the late William and Sarah Purvis. Beloved husband of Doris (Whalen) of 61 years. Dear father of Norma (Dick) Splinter of Sydenham, Harold of Kingston, Pat (Carol) of Inverary, Ann (Tony) Carquez of Kingston and Earl Purvis of B.C. He will always be remembered in the hearts of his grandchildren Derrick Splinter, Anita (Richard) Van Zevendergen, Paul (Laurie) Splinter, Jason Splinter, Andy Purvis, Bill Purvis (Sarah), Steven Carquez, Michael Carquez and his 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Keitha, Irene, Ruth, Mary and Helena. Norman will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOMES - TOWNSHIP CHAPEL, 435 Davis Drive (Taylor Kidd Blvd. Centennial Drive) on Saturday, December 15, 2007 from 10:30 - 12 Noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Kingston Mills. Rite of Committal with prayers will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. For those wishing, donations may be made to the Fairmount Homes or to the Alzheimer's Society. 10934437
