TER BRAAK, Geertruida Hendrika “Trudy“ (nee Broens) - In loving memory of Trudy Ter Braak who passed away peacefully in her 77th year at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre on Monday, December 10th, 2007. Trudy, daughter of Hendrikus Johannes and Hendrika Berendina Johanna (Perik) Broens, predeceased, was born in Wierden, Holland, on December 18th, 1930. She emigrated to Canada in 1958, marrying her best friend and pen pal, Johannus “John“ in 1959. She was a devoted member of St. Alexander's parish and a longtime member of the CWL. Trudy loved working with her hands creating many knitted and crocheted gifts which she shared with all who entered her life. She always had a smile to share and stole the hearts of all who met her. She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Beloved wife of John Ter Braak. Loving mother of Diana (Chris) of Azilda, Janet (Bernie) of Hanmer, Brenda (Andrew) of Waterloo, Gerry (Renee) of Sturgeon Falls, Irene (Marc) of Chelmsford. Loving Oma to Ryan, Megan, Chelsea, Kaela, Lauren, Hannah, Julia, Adrian, Jessica, Danielle and Jonathan. Will be sadly missed by her sisters Riek (Jos), Riny, predeceased (Johan), Annie (Antoon) and her brothers Gerrit (Mini), Jan (Tonny) all from Holland. Beloved sister-in-law to Gerrit, Hermina de Kamp, Hendrick, Bernard all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Wednesday, December 12th, 2007 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral to be held at St. Alexander Church at 100 Gaudette St., Chelmsford at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 13th, 2007 with reception to follow. We would also like to thank all those who helped Trudy and her family on her journey, especially all the staff on the 3rd floor at York Extendicare, Dr. Sauve and the ICU staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre. Donations to the SRH - Cardiac Unit or Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer (NOFCC) would be appreciated. Condolences and wishes can be expressed at www.lougheed.org.
