MacDONNELL, Lydia Grace McGuire (nee Lelievre) - In loving memory of Lydia Grace (McGuire) MacDonnell (nee Lelievre) 82 years, who passed away Sunday, December 16th, 2007, at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre . Born on April 5, 1925 in Notre Dame Du Nord to Christina (Polson) and Pierre Lelievre (both predeceased). Loving wife of Fred McGuire (predeceased) and Donald MacDonnell, whom she married in 1952 and raised a loving family of eight children. Greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her eight children, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law, Ileene Clark (husband Jerry), Ronald McGuire (wife Joanne), Austin McGuire (wife Denise), Marion Roberts (husband Chuck), Jim MacDonnell (wife Donna), Ann Frampton (husband Chris), Brian MacDonnell (wife Carol), Rick MacDonnell (wife Sherri) and 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Mark, John, Marvin, Bobby and sisters Helen, Roseanne and Ethel. Survived by and fondly remembered by sisters Margaret, Belle, Fern, brother Pat, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews. Lydia was a long time member of Holy Redeemer Parish and active in the CWL and other church activities. She was well known for her wonderful baking and knitting, which she readily donated to church teas, bazaars, school and family functions for many years. Lydia was happiest when surrounded by her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lydia was best known for her avid cribbage playing and her competitive nature. She enjoyed many years of camping with Donald, their children and many friends on Manitoulin Island and at Shining Tree. Her legacy to her children was in her strength and determination to overcome any adversity. We love you and miss you mom, grandma and great grandma. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass at Holy Redeemer Church, 1887 Bancroft Dr., Sudbury Thursday, December 20th, 2007 at 10 a.m.. Interment at the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to the Lung Association or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. (Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday).
