NIEUWESTEEG, John - Passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Saturday December 8, 2007 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 59 years to Henny. Dearly loved father of Hein (Jean), Mara Matson (John Kelly), Rene (Mary Ann), Leo (Cheryl), Joyce and Dawn. Cherished Opa of Rachael, Daniel, Dana, Jonathan, Michelle, Tiffany, Tara, Travis and Justin and Great-Opa of Andre and Lily. Sadly missed by many brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews. John had worked for 25 years at General Motors and he was a long time parishioner of St. Patrick's Church. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of John donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.
