McMURTRIE, James “Jiggs” - Peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 86. Survived by his daughters Cynthia (David) Durward and Elaine (Bob) Smart and their mother Barbara McMurtrie. Loving grandfather of Andrea (Daryle) Eastman and Gregory Smart. Dear brother of Agnes (Roger) Fortin. Uncle of Margaret Carter and Ray Fowle. Fondly remembered by Claire Davidson and her family. Jiggs was a member for many years with the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 51, a member of the original Houck Ball Team, an avid golfer with a membership for 50 years with Oaklands Golf Club. He retired after more than 40 years of service with Oneida Canada. At Jigg's request, cremation has taken place.
