SHAVER, Lillian - At the NHS - General Site on Monday, December 3, 2007 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Robert (2001) for 54 years. Loving mother of Rev. Kathleen (Robert) Leadley, Janet Fischer and Keith (Anne Soroka) Shaver. She will be missed by her grandchildren Jessica (Jon) Purdy, Rachel (Marcus) Ansems, Rob Leadley, Erin (Steve) Newburn, Sarah (Dave) Fischer-Johnstone, Adam Fischer, Marissa, Kristen and Laura Shaver and her great-grandchildren Jordon and Jaxon Purdy, Jasper Ansems and Kristen and Jeffrey Newburn. She is survived by her brother James (Margaret) Cornwall, brother- in-law Bill (Sherrill) Shaver and son-in-law Matthew Fischer. Lillian is predeceased by her parents Randolph and Rosie Cornwall and her infant sister Phyllis. Lillian was a faithful member of Welland Avenue United Church for over 60 years, she was one of the first women elders of the church, a founding member of the UCW, a member of the choir, and served on the Pastoral Care committee. She worked at the St. Catharines Public Library for many years, enjoyed travelling, was an avid bowler, bridge player and more recently a member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Shaver is at the NIAGARA ST. CHAPEL of BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 424 Niagara St. (south of Scott) where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Welland Avenue United Church, 5 Henry St. (at Welland Ave.) on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
