BAIRD, FRANCES I. - Surrounded by her loving family, Frances went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 8th, 2007. Frances I. Baird (nee Logan) was born on November 7th, 1924, to the late Leonard and Leah Logan. Her growing up years on Chesley Drive (The Shore) held wonderful memories for her and were the source of many stories. Frances married the love of her life, the late J. Stuart Baird on May 17th, 1947. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Allison; and son and daughter in law, Len and Kathy Baird; her grandsons, John (Holly) Baird, Luke (Crystal) Baird, Logan Baird and Kate Baird; and her great grandson, Brayden Baird. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Davidson; and brother, Doug (Nedra) Logan; sisters in law, Pauline Logan and Ruth Logan; and brother in law, Lloyd Richardson. Besides her husband and parents, Frances was predeceased by her brothers, Bill, Norman and Hartly; and sisters, Elodie and Eleanor. Fran graduated from Vocational School and worked at Thornes for many years and finished her work life as Office manager for Brunterm. She was an active member of Hillcrest United Baptist Church and had been a member of the Harmony Club for over 50 years. Her relationships with "The girls" was very special and brought much joy and laughter to her life. Fran loved to play games and was often asked to supply them for many occasions. The last few years, spent at Hillcrest Village, she enjoyed the evening gatherings with her friends at Comeau House. Fran had a sweet and gentle nature and a willingness to help whenever she could and was always happiest behind the scenes. Resting at Castles "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 11th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 12th, at Hillcrest United Baptist Church, 476 Lancaster Ave., at 1:00 p.m., with a reception following in the church hall. Interment to take place at the Lorneville Cemetery, in Saint John. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of one's choice.
