TONNER, CATHERINE LEONORA -Peacefully on December 8, 2007 at Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo, ON, Catherine (Kit) Tonner in her 89th year. Catherine grew up in Scotland and lived in South Africa before coming to Canada, living in Montreal, Saint John, NB, and St. Marys, ON. Catherine was the loving wife of the late Daniel Tonner; dear mother of Ian Tonner (Saint John, NB) and Sheila Brown (Waterloo); loving grandmother of Craig Brown (Leah) Halifax, Lynn Sobkowich (Wade) Winnipeg, Keith Tonner (Saint John, NB) and Colin Tonner (Saint John, NB). Catherine is also survived by great-grandchildren, Ethan, Megan and Lauren Sobkowich, Katherine and Isaac Brown, and Brandon Scott. The family would like to give special thanks to the First Floor staff of Pinehaven Nursing Home for their gentle care. Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John, NB. A gathering to celebrate Catherine's life will be held at the home of her daughter on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 4 p.m. Donations in Catherine's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
