LEBLANC, BERNICE JOAN - 74, Halifax, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Sussex, NB, she was the daughter of the late Otty and Grace Geldart. She was also predeceased by her husband, Roger LeBlanc and brother, Ralph Geldart. She was a loving mother and had a very large heart when it came to all of her friends. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. #156, Lakeside, and a life member of the Air Force Veteran's Club in Moncton, NB, as well as the Resolute Club in Halifax. She was a devout Catholic, and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Pius X Church in Fairview. She is survived by her loving companion, William McElroy; her sons, Phillip, BC, and Michael (Cathy), Newfoundland; her daughter, Tammy, Elmsdale; three grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda and Jennifer; brother, George (Anita)Geldart, BC; and sisters, Marilyn Legere (Jack), Moncton, Charlotte Bell (Lloyd), Sussex Corner, NB, and Ruby Swift (Keith), Brier Island, NS; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. She will especially be missed by her very close friend, Mary Jane Snow. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all of the staff of the QEII for all of the care and compassion given to Bernice while in their care. Resting at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, NS (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2007 from 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am from St. Benedict Parish, St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 165 Coronation Avenue, Fairview, NS, with Fr. Mark Cherry as celebrant.
