PARKER, Arthur Edward - (Past President of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, member of the Council of Canadians, active member of the Peterborough Naturalists and the Peterborough Historical Society and Life Member of the Harvey Township Historical Society and dedicated member of St. John's Anglican Church for over 50 years). Peacefully at Royal Gardens, on Saturday December 15, 2007 in his 95th year. Cherished husband of Betty (Thompson) for 68 years. Lovingly remembered by his sons and their wives Jim (Madeline) of Peterborough, Rod Parker of London, Ontario, Jeff (Linda) of Buckhorn and the late Ralph Parker. Father-in-law to Sally Parker of Irondale and the late Gayle Parker. Art and Betty were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Brother of Winnifred Mundy of Ottawa and Herbert Parker of Bobcaygeon and the late Harry Parker, Doris Hall, Marjory Schultes and Mildred Conway. Friends will be received at the NISBETT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 600 Monaghan Rd. S. from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 19, 2007. A service to celebrate Art's life will follow in the Nisbett Chapel at 12:00 p.m. A reception following the service will be held at the Nisbett Reception Centre. Interment at Sandy Lake Cemetery, Lakehurst. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Matthews - St. Aidens Anglican Church, Buckhorn or to the charity of your choice.
