WALKER, Arthur - At Bluewater Health Palliative Care on December 16, 2007 after a short but courageous battle with asbestosis, mesothelioma, Arthur Walker, the beloved husband for 45 years of Nan. Proud & loving father of son Alan and partner Jan Wilson and girls of Sarnia, daughter Joanne & partner Mike Dennis of Wyoming. Beloved brother of Jack & wife Renee, sister Gladys Howarth, sister Isa and husband Bill Harris. Many nephews and nieces in Sarnia, Bath, ON., the Boston, Mass area and Northern Ireland, where he also leaves behind many other relatives, in- laws and good friends. Also survived by brother Hugh and wife Ruth and family of B.C. Arthur came to Sarnia from Belfast in 1960 and retired from Dow Chemical as a pipefitter in 1993. An active member of Bethel Church, he also volunteered his time at Bible for Missions Thrift Store, Meals on Wheels & Inn of the Good Shepherd. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery will follow. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, on Tuesday evening only from 7 until 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Inn of the Good Shepherd or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would also like to express their thanks to the nurses and doctors of palliative care for their kindness and consideration shown to Arthur and his family during his short stay and also many thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Eamon Gamble.
