YOUNG, RUTH MARIE - Mrs. Ruth Marie (Munro) Young, widow of Melville J. Young, slipped away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on Sunday, December 16th, 2007 following a brief illness. Born in Belle Cote, Cape Breton, NS on September 16th, 1913, she was the eldest daughter of Hanlan and Jessie (MacKay) Munro. After her marriage, Ruth settled in Leonardville, Deer Island, NB where she resided until her passing. Ruth is survived by her three children, Melville E (Ann) of Campobello, NB, Anne (Carl) Camick of Deer Island and Nancy Young of Saint John; two grandchildren, Jason of Campobello and Joshua (Christina) Young of St. Andrews, NB; sisters Tena Hickey of N.E. Margaree, Isabell (Joseph) Stasiuk of Portage La Prairie and Gladys (Glen) Bristow of Toronto; brother-in-law Stanford (Myrtle) Young; sisters-in-law Mildred Young and Pauline Young, all of Deer Island; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, parents and an infant brother, Ruth was predeceased by brother Edward Munro and his wife Mary; sisters Mary Hart and her husband Laird; Lettie Vair and her husband Stewart; brothers-in-law Arthur Hickey, Cyril Young, DeCosta Young; sisters-in-law Thelma (Cecil) Tewksbury, Lois (Louis) Musetta, and Mona (Wallace) Sokolis. Ruth was a member of St. Matthews-Wesley United Church, North Sydney, NS, the Leonardville Women's Institute, and past member of the I.O.D.E. For many years she worked with her husband and son in the operation of their company Fundy Contractors Ltd. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB on Tuesday, December 18th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and at the Leonardville Church of Christ on Deer Island on Wednesday, December 19th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The service will be held at the Leonardville Church of Christ on Thursday at 2:00 pm. Interment at the Leonardville Community Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice. December 18, 2007
