Sarah Jane (Jennie) Johnson 1911 - 2007 The family of Jennie Johnson, 96 of Scotch Settlement regret to announce her death on Monday, December 17, 2007 after a brief illness. Born at Smith's Corner, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Cail) Lawson. Jennie was educated at Cails Mills and Teacher's College, Fredericton. She taught school in various rural communities in NB and met her future husband, Abbott Johnson, at MacDougall's Settlement. She was church organist for 67 years, served as an Elder, was Clerk of Session, held various executive positions in the Women's Missionary Society and The United Church Women, receiving a 50 year service pin and life membership in 1997. She taught Sunday School for many years and played an active role in the 99 Senior's Club. She was always a key organizer for the many community events and took a keen interest in agricultural issues related to the family farm.
