George Benoit 1925 - 2007 George Benoit, 82, of Villa de Repos, formerly of Jones Street, Moncton, passed away Friday, December 21, 2007. Born February 14, 1925 in Chatham, NB, he was the son of the late Jérome and Elizabeth 'Minnie" (Wedge) Benoit. He retired in 1980 as a carman with CN following 37 years service, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1310, the CN Pensionners Club, the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club, past Grand-Knight of 1310, past volunteer with the Moncton Food Bank, and the Villa de Repos. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 54 years, Lorraine (Bourgeois) Benoit; his two loving daughters, Julie Jaillet (Don) of Fredericton, Denise Robichaud (Louis) of Dieppe; four grandchildren, Christine, Dominik, Éric, and Luc; two former sons-in-law, Ken Jaillet and George Robichaud; many nieces, and nephews. Georges was the last survivor of his immediate family of twelve. Resting at salon funéraire Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 10 a.m. until departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 24th at Christ-Roi R.C. Church, Moncton. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. The 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus members of Council 1310 will hold a prayer service Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. from Frenette's.
