MONTIGNY, Edgar Joseph - The family announces with sorrow his sudden passing in Salmon Arm B.C. on December 15, 2007. Edgar was born in Schumacher in 1927. He was a 30 year veteran police officer who proudly served with both the Tisdale Police dept. and the Timmins Police dept. retiring in 1987 as a staff sergeant; as well as being a long time member of the Schumacher Lion's Club. Edgar played semi-pro hockey for a number of American teams in the late 40s and early 50s. He was pre-deceased by his 1st wife Verna (nee Watters) of 45 years in 1993, his father Treffle Montigny in 1969, and his mother Florida (nee Perrier) in 1982. He is survived by his wife Kaye Montigny and his children Caryn Rich (Fred) of Kamloops, B.C., Marilyn Day (Jim) of Lyndhurst ON, Raymond Montigny (Suzanne) of Timmins, Edgar Andre Montigny (Roger Gibbs) of Toronto; as well as 7 grandchildren:Trina, Darral, Carrie, David, Christopher, Joshua and Caitlin and 7 great-grandchildren: Randy, Mason, Jakob, Max, Isabelle, Danica & Sayla. He is also survived by his brother Ronald of Duncan B.C. and his sister Irene Webster of Gold Centre, ON. Edgar will be missed by his family, friends and neighbours. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Cremation will take place at a later date with a memorial service to follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Bowers Funeral Home 440 10th Street SW, Salmon Arm, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinsons Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. 10936771
