Aline Vachon nee: Ruel, of Hearst The funeral service for Hearst resident Aline (née Ruel) Vachon, 87, of the Foyer des pionniers Nursing Home was held Oct. 15, 2007. She died Oct. 12 at the Foyer. Born Dec. 7, 1919 in Ste-Justine, Québec, she was a good-natured, always smiling person who enjoyed camping and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Les Dames de Ste-Anne, Le Cercle des fermières, and the Club soleil des aïné-e-s de Hearst seniors club. Predeceased by her husband Valérien Vachon in 2005 and son Denis in 1998, both of Hearst, she leaves her daughters Denise (Jeannot) Pelletier of Hearst and Jeannine (Yvon Duchesne) Vachon of Mattawa, and sons Léo-Paul (Irène Aubin), Réal (Lucie) and René (Henriette) Vachon, all of Hearst. Also surviving are her sisters Édith Ranger of Ottawa, and Lucie Poulin and Julienne (Tom) Trudel, all of Hearst, brothers Paul-Aimé (Cécile) Ruel of Fauquier and André (Henriette) Ruel of Kapuskasing, as well as 22 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and many sisters- and-brothers-in-law. Rev. Rémi Lessard directed the service at Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral. Interment followed after at Ste-Anne Cemetery in Hallébourg. Commemorative donations may be made to the Foyer home.
