Russell GARREAU

Russell Garreau of Haileybury died at the age of 78 at the Temiskaming Hospital on November 10, 2007 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on July 20, 1929 to Joseph and Eva Garreau. Mr. Garreau was a talented woodworker, avid gardener and will be remembered for his cooking skills. He was predeceased by his second wife Clara Lauzon and many brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Rita Charpentier Garreau of Haileybury; children Linda Garreau (and Andre Manon) of Sprague, Allan (and Carmen) Garreau of Sudbury, Ricky Garreau of Hamilton, Susan (and Daniel) Gravelle of Hamilton, Shirley (and Rheal) Plaessance of Montreal, Quebec, Leon (and Caroline) Bigras of Latchford, Carmen (and Jim) Larkin of Barrie, Gus Charpentier of New Liskeard, Lise (and Tom) Goddard of Barrie, and Luc (and Joanne) Charpentier of New Liskeard; siblings Eddie Garreau of Latchford, Joan (and Roger) Carmody of Latchford, Ronnie (and Diane) Garreau of British Columbia; twenty-six grandchildren and many great grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cobalt on Wednesday, November 14 at 11 a.m., Father John Lemire officiating.
