BARBER, ROBERT 'BOB' WILLIAM (1943-2007)- The death occurred suddenly on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at age 63 years. Bob was predeceased by his parents Bill and Violet Barber, his brothers Doug and Walter and by one son, Kevin. He is survived by his partner in love and life, Lorraine Boucher of Matheson, his sons Gary Barber of Matheson and Josh Beaulieu of Iroquois Falls, his grandchildren Ariel and Brendan Barber and by his extended family , Ann Boucher (Mike Whalen) and Zack Cloutier both of Matheson, Luc Boucher (Nikki Carr), Austin and Morgan Boucher, Kyle Woodman all of Gananoque and by Lorraine's mother, Rachel Boucher Matheson. He is also survived by his sister Correen (Doug Bryant) of Timmins and their family and by sisters-in-law Joanne (Frank Tegel) of Toronto and Judy (Dan Coultis) of Timmins and their families. He will be sadly missed by many close and faithful friends. Bob was one of the first employees hired by Texas Gulf in 1996. He was involved in municipal politics, serving on the Black River-Matheson council for many years. He has been involved with numerous committees and groups focused on improving the lives of the people in the municipality. In spite of chronic back pain, he kept lawns clipped and snow blown away for several of his neighbours who were unable to do it themselves. He has put many miles on his little garden tractor. He was always ready, willing and able to drive people to appointments if they needed a ride. An active member of A.A., Bob had enjoyed 24 years of sobriety. Well known and remembered for his controversial letters to the editor which often appeared in the local newspapers, his pen has now been stilled. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins and then at St. Andrew's United Church, Matheson on Thursday from 2 p.m to 3 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. from St. Andrews United Church in Matheson. Cremation will follow at the Hillcrest Crematorium, Matheson. In lieu of flowers, donations made to your favourite charity would be greatly appreciated.
