LAANSTRA, Sylvia - “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12. God took his child Sylvia Laanstra (nee Westra) to be with him at the age of 82. Loving wife of Frederik Laanstra. Dear mother of Bert and Lillian Laanstra, Fred and Ann Nickason, Shirley Groendyk and Bill McKinnon, and Felicia Zantingh and Dan Burns. Grandmother of Fred and Lisa, Jack, Jeff, and Denise, Christina and Derek, Jennifer and Ian, Selina and Shaun, Keith and Emily, Melissa and Norm, Nathaniel, Becky and Roland, Angela and Nate, Julie and Nick, and Janine and Eric. Great Grandmother of Alex, Matthew, Parker, Jaedyn, Brayden, Sophia, Rowan, and Cassidy. Survived by 3 brothers and a sister in the Netherlands. Sylvia was a longtime member of the Sarnia Weavers Guild. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 14, 2008, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, ON. Funeral service will be held at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 1 PM.
