MILLARD, H. Dudley - 83 of Port Huron, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2007. He was born to Herbert and Auley Millard on June 30, 1924 in Sarnia, Ontario. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche, who passed away November 30, 2002. He is survived by his brother, Donald B. (Dorothy) Millard of Saginaw; two daughters, Gail Millard Donovan of Lansing, and Leanne Millard Balten of Lake Orion; five grandchildren, Patricia A. Donovan, and Emily A., Elizabeth M., Alexandra M., and Adam M. Balten; a great grandson, Ethan Alexander. Dudley graduated from Port Huron High School in 1942. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1943 while serving in the U.S. Army. Dudley was a corporal with Battery D, 462D AAA Battalion during World War II. His tour of duty included the Normandy invasion, the liberation of Paris, Verdun, the Bulge, Remagen, and Pilsen before returning to England and then back home. Dudley married Blanche A. Robinson in Grace Episcopal Church, Port Huron on April 15, 1950, where they remained faithful members. Dudley served on the vestry at Grace, was a Senior Warden, and Sunday School Superintendent. He retired from Mueller Brass Co. in 1986 after over 30 years of service. He and Blanche owned and operated The Aquarium Shop for 35 years. One of Dudley's hobbies was building model airplanes. His collection of over 200 planes was recently donated to the Lexington, MI VFW. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 in Grace Episcopal Church. Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 a.m. in the church parlor. The Rev. Robert Trask will officiate. Inurnment in the Grace Church Columbarium will follow the service. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church or Port Huron Hospital Foundation – Breathers Club.
