Joan Marie BRANTNALL

BRANTNALL, Joan Marie - Joan Marie Brantnall (nee Kennedy) passed away peacefully on December 28, 2007 at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her family; Heather & Craig Jones, George Brantnall and Karen Brantnall, grandchildren Sarah, Daniel and Jessica. Joan will also be missed by her brothers, sister and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Audrie and husband George. Joan was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 18, 1937. After spending many years traveling Canada with her military husband, Joan settled in Kingston, Ontario on Uxbridge Crescent where she made many wonderful friends and hosted many turkey suppers. These dear friends were like family to her and it was only her desire to be near her children that uprooted her to Calgary earlier this year. Although her time was short with us, we loved having Mom near us every day. Joan had a great love of animals and enjoyed watching the birds out her window each morning with her faithful companion Bebe. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses on Unit 47 of the Foothills Hospital as well as her home care nurses Lynn and Teresa for the kindness and compassion they showed Mom. A Celebration of Joan's life will be held at the South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 MacLeod Trail South on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined.
