BOAL (GERVAIS), Valerie Rita “Auntie Val“ (nee Griffin) - On Christmas Eve 2007 in her home of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario at the young age of 61 and after a courageous battle with breast cancer, Valerie passed away peacefully with her husband Ken by her side. Beloved mother of two sons, Barry (Kim) Gervais and grandsons Jonathan and Curtis and her younger son Blaine Gervais and step- mother to Lloyd, Tracey, Jeffrey, and Ann Marie. She is survived by her father Eric, brother Martyn (in Midland, Michigan), sister Pat (Purves) and their families. She was predeceased by her mother Ruby (2005). Valerie had an abounding enthusiasm for life and she had a zest for living in that every day of her brief time she shared with us was a testament to the wonders found all around us. She taught herself many skills and became a wonder with computers, making websites at a time most of us had never understood these new technologies. She was a skillful hunter, boater and fisherwoman. She loved to travel and visited her beloved Caribbean Islands yearly. Her visits with her family in Sarnia were boisterous, joyful occasions that we all anticipated breathlessly. At Valerie's request there will be no memorial service and cremation has taken place. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at ppurves@sympatico.ca 10943309
