GIRARDI, Finisia (nee Longo) - Passed away peacefully with her loving and devoted family at her side, at the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday, January 6, 2008 in her 97th year, Finisia has gone to be with God. Beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Girardi for 56 years; dear mother of Ludovico and his wife Maria, Alessandro and his wife Antonietta, Maria and her husband Livio all of Brantford; proud grandmother of Vince (Susan), Nisia (David), Tony, Adelia (Jerry), Marisa (Randy), Vince, Sandra, Dante (Crystal), Anna Maria, Angelo (Anna), Rita (Ryan); great grandmother to 25 and great- great grandmother to many; sister-in-law of Nardina, Lina and Maria; predeceased by her sister Giuseppina and her husband Pietro in Italy; brothers-in-law Rocco, Giovanni, Antonio, Pierino; sister-in-law Malietta (Leonardo). Finisia will be fondly remembered as a kind loving person who always helped others. Finisia embraced her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting and baking. Finisia was a member of the Catholic Women's League, and spent her life following the teachings of God. We are blessed to have another Angel looking over us. We love you. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS' FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL“, 96 West Street, on Tuesday (today) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with Parish Prayers at 8:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray Street, on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 11 am followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
