SHAW, Grover Craig - Fought the good fight and passed peacefully into God's hands, surrounded by his loving family, at the C.K.H.A. Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the age of 85. He was born, January 4, 1923 in Kent Bridge, son of the late Grover A. and Margaret Jane (Craig) Shaw. Craig is survived by his loving wife Mary Theresa (Wildgen), 5 loving daughters Mary Jane of Greenville, S.C., Susan (Art Poole) of Chatham, Joanne (Roy Steele) of Windsor, Elizabeth of Chatham, Peggy (David Van Dyk) of Dorchester and his 3 grandchildren, John Patrick, Josh & Erin of Mitchell's Bay. Predeceased by his sister Beth (2000). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Craig was proud of his service in the R.C.A.F. during W.W. II and was a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #367, Thamesville for 61 years. Craig lived and farmed in Kent Bridge all his life and in later years worked at W.G. Thompsons in Kent Bridge. He lived a great life and enjoyed his many travels with Mary, his family and friends. Dad will be deeply missed. Special thanks to his guardian angel Erin Sinclair for her loving care these past several months and also to the nurses & staff of the Continuing Care unit at Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg. The Shaw family will receive family and friends at the JOHN C. BADDER FUNERAL HOME, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. We will celebrate Dad's life with a funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, (Victoria St.) Chatham on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 1:00 pm. with Fr. Jim Williams as Celebrant. Interment Shawbank Cemetery, Kent Bridge. Donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to the Thamesville Legion Poppy Fund or the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation.
