MADDOCK, John Edward - Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday January 6, 2008 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood in his 88th year. John of Stayner, lovingly commended to the Lord's care by his dear wife of over 60 years, Sally. Loving father of Tess Ayles- Hutt and her husband Karl Hutt, Stephanie and her husband Paul Bellamy, Tim and his wife Sharon, Mary and her husband Dwight Millar and the late Charles. Cherished grandfather of Luke, John, Meghan, Kris, Greg, Amanda, Roberta, Tegan and Arian. Proud great grandfather of Maya and Everest. John was a well known character in Stayner, out, rain or shine on his scooter and one of the oldest Veterans of World War II, a proud Canadian, faithful servant, lay reader and pastoral visitor of the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd. Friends were received at the CARRUTHERS & DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 7313 Highway 26 (Main St.), Stayner (705-428-2637) on Wednesday January 9, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Funeral Service was held at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, 219 Scott Street, Stayner (at Kirkwood Dr.) on Thursday January 10, 2008 at 1 o'clock with visitation from 12 noon.
