SUONIEMI, Jouko - Passed away at his residence in North Bay, Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the age of 67. Jouko Suoniemi was the beloved husband of Pirjo (nee Saikkonen), loved father of Pia Bedard (Blair) and Cindy Suoniemi (Tim Anderson) and Grandfather 'Papa' to Dillon and Michaela Bedard. He will be missed by many family members and friends in North Bay and Jyvaskyla, Finland, as well as his dear friend and canoe pal, Don Pearo. Predeceased by his parents, Aili and Lauri Lehtonen. Jouko was a former employee of the City of North Bay, Engineering Department. Family and friends are invited for a memorial visitation at McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Children's Aid Society for the District of Nipissing and Parry Sound would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
