MATTEIS, Maria “Mary“ - Passed away peacefully in Chatham on Thursday, December 27, 2007, Maria “Mary“ Matteis, at the age of 70 years. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Matteis (2001). Born in Castelvetere Sul Calore, Italy in 1937, daughter of the late Antionetta Vena and Joseph Matteis. Mary was a member of St. Ursula's Church and the Catholic Women's League, having just received her 40 year pin. She was also a member of the former Chatham K-Cettes. Loving mother of Debra- Ann Martin and her husband Jake of Chatham, Linda MacDonald and her husband Randy of Chatham, Mike Matteis and his wife Sue of Belle River and Joe Matteis Jr. and his wife Tanya of Burlington. Sadly missed by grandchildren; Courtney, Devin, Morgan, Max and Mae. Also dearly missed by a sister and 3 brothers. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 7-9 p.m. Saturday December 29, 2007 and again on Sunday December 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered 3:00 pm on Sunday, followed by the Catholic Women's League Prayers. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 10:00 am in St. Ursula's Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
