BAKER, Charles (CB) Bertrum - At the age of 80 of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, passed away Sunday, December 23 at the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born in Parry Sound, ON, on April 23, 1927 he was the son of Alec and Irene (Kelly) Baker. He served on the Timmins Police Force from 1953 to the mid 1960's, when he began his employment with Ontario Hydro. He remained with Hydro working in the Toronto, Burlington and North Bay offices, until his retirement in 1992. In the last few years, Charlie was a tremendous help to his son, Rick, in his food business. He was a friend to many, always willing to offer a helping hand. He was an avid and proficient golfer. He (and his wife, Jane) faithfully followed the trials and triumphs of the Toronto Blue Jays. He had a keen sense of humour. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jane Elizabeth (Wickham) Baker, two sons, Rick (Sandra) Baker of Lower Sackville, NS and Doug (Sara) Baker of Langley, BC, a brother Victor (Audrey) Baker of Barrie, ON, four grandchildren, Elisha, Dara, Emma and Meghan and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers; Francis and Michael, sisters; Madeline and Anna and nephew Bobby Young. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Neurology Ward, 8.1 for their care and kindness.
