Mrs. Wilda Ruth Graves (née Cross) April 27, 1922 - March 25, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Duncan) GRAVES – WILDA RUTH (nee CROSS) born on April 27, 1922 passed away peacefully on March 25, 2004 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by her husband Roy Graves in October, 1995. She will be truly missed her partner, Bernie Kjekstad, by her son, Gerry Graves (Welmoet) of Olds, daughters Ginny Stott (Ken) and Georgia Desmarais (Tom) and grandchildren, Michael and Scott Desmarais, Brendan Rooney all of Calgary and Lisa Rooney of Los Angeles. She and Roy spent many happy years in Calgary raising their family while enjoying their involvement in numerous charities and organizations such as The Calgary Stampede, The Stampeder Football Club, The Rotary Club, The Calgary Golf & Country Club, The Glencoe Club and Riverview United Church. If she was not sewing for her family or for Rotary Club shows you may find her on the golf course or at the bridge table. They began their retirement in Westward Ho where they loved the quiet country life. In 1987 they moved to Arbutus Ridge, BC where Willie quickly made new, long lasting friendships. She led a full life and leaves behind fabulous memories for all her family and friends. Thank you for showing us how to live our lives with strength, conviction and laughter. The family would like to thank Doctor Moulaison and the doctors and nurses of the Cowichan District Hospital for their tremendous care and support. At her request there will be no service.
