George Andrew Elms December 31, 1911 - April 04, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) ELMS, George A. - 92, Bedford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 4, 2004, in Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in Pacquet, NL, he was the son of the late Jacob and Rose (Anderson) Elms. George lived and worked in Newfoundland, retiring from EPA in 1974. He and his wife Agnes moved to Nova Scotia in 1986 to be near family and enjoy the balance to their retirement. Surviving are daughter, Gwen (Gary) McFarland, Bedford; sons, Ross (Emma), Gander, NL; Calvin (Margaret), Gambo, NL; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Mitchell, Woodstock, NL; Irene Keats, Glovertown, NL. He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes (Elliott) and his daughter, Bernice (Callum). Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, with funeral service Tuesday at 11 a.m., both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, Pastor David Arthur officiating. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the TCU at Dartmouth General Hospital from all of George's family for their wonderful care and compassion shown to George these past months that he had been in their care.
