John STOOP

STOOP, John - Tragically taken away as a result of an accident on December 14, 2007 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of 54 years to Elisabeth. Loving father of Yolanda Yungblut (Robert), Linda (Patti), John Jr., Adrian, Betty Pala (Frank), Mike (Pauline), Rita Loeffen (John) and Lucy (Nick). Caring Opa of Ryan (Michelle), Lindsay Henderson (Kirk), Melissa Forbes (Kevin), Sandra, Kimberly, Sarah, Tyler, Brianna, Allison, Lydia, Hannah, Jasmine, Eric, Alex, Brennon, Eric, Aryn, Nathan, Nicole, and great Opa to Riley, Ethan, Liam and Mallory. John emigrated to Canada in 1951 where he owned and operated Spierdyke Farms with his brother Cees and his good friend Piet Vankampen. He enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends. If he wasn't busy in his garden or on the farm, he could be found biking around the Niagara Peninsula!!! A loving, good natured man who will be missed by all. We love you and you'll be in our hearts forever. The Stoop family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 17, 2007 at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church (Hwy # 3, Wainfleet) at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
