NASMITH, Dorothy May, 1920 - 2007 - On Christmas Eve after a brief illness. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Carol Baggott Forte and husband, Aldo Potenza of Toronto, her step-daughter Sharon V. Nasmith -Jones and husband Greg Jones of Niagara on the Lake. Mrs. Nasmith (nee Coyne) was 4th generation born and raised in St. Catharines. Her father, A.J. Coyne was proprietor of the Niagara Apothecary during the first World War and later operated his IDA drugstore on the corner of Lake and Albert Str. where Dorothy Helped him tend store as a young girl. She spent hot summers bicycling and swimming with friends in the Welland Canal - as well as fishing. Mrs. Nasmith resided from 1947 - 1967 in Lewiston, N.Y. during her first marriage to Wm. F. Baggott (d. 1993) where she studied, worked as a practical nurse and raised her children Carol and Tait Baggott (d. 1987). She returned to St. Catharines in 1967 at the time of her marriage to J. Douglas Nasmith (d. 1996). Her curiosity and lively intellect allowed her to study plants, rocks, birds, natural health, genealogy, coin collections and antiques. Since 2004 Mrs. Nasmith lived at Pleasant Manor and Heritage Place in Virgil where she received kind and loving care from remarkable staff. Mother, may peace find you at last. Graveside eulogy Monday Dec. 31, 1 p.m., Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St. St. Catharines.
