ARMSTRONG, Clarke - Surrounded by his family at his home in Markdale, Tuesday, December 25, 2007. Harold Clarke Armstrong in his 62nd year. Loving husband of Diane (Nee Ozalas), and father of Aldona, Richard and wife Nadine. Son of Ethel Armstrong of Grey Gables, Markdale, formerly of Tillsonburg and the late Harold C. Armstrong. Clarke will be missed by the families of his sister Catherine (husband Dick, children Dale, Cheryl, Kevin and John), brothers Mason (daughter Keely) and Boyd (wife Elaine and son Chris). Also missed by the families of his sisters-in-law Paula (late husband John McGuire) and Aldona (husband Don Caldwell). Fondly remembered by many great friends and neighbours. Visitation will be held at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A gathering will take place at the Markdale Golf and Curling Club on Saturday December 29th from 1-3 p.m., the family welcomes friends to come together to honour and celebrate Clarke's gentle spirit and clever wit. Clarke was a retired geography teacher, he taught at GHSS for 30 years. He coached basketball, baseball and curling. Many of his student curling teams went onto the Ontario provincial finals. Clarke was past president of the Markdale Golf & Curling Club and was an avid curler, golfer and tennis player. He will be remembered for being active in the community. Cremation followed by spring interment in Markdale Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Victorian Order of Nurses or Annesley United Church would be appreciated by the family.
