HUIZINGA, Gerda - Surrounded by her family at the Henderson General Hospital in Hamilton on Thursday, December 27, 2007, Gerda Huizinga (nee DeBruyn) of Smithville in her 65th year, went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Beloved wife for 45 years of Albert Huizinga. Loving mother of Carol and Harvey Pot, Hank Huizinga, and Charles and Anneliese Huizinga. Cherished by her grandchildren Justin, Matthew, Brendan, Katelyn, Alanna, Danika and Rudy. Dear sister of Leni and Arie Vanderkooy, Kees DeBruyn, Corrie and Jack Roemer, George and Carol DeBruyn. Gerda will also be sadly missed by the Huizinga family. Gerda was an employee of the Royal Bank for over 25 years. Friends may call at the MERRITT FUNERAL HOME, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Saturday, December 29 from 6-9 pm. Interment at 9:30 am on Monday, December 31, 2007 at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery, followed by the funeral service at the Smithville Christian Reformed Church (6522 Smithville Road) beginning at 11 am.
