KELLY, Thomas Joseph On Friday, December 14th, 2007, Thomas peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Doyle) for 57 years and loving father to their children Bonnie (Ron Bean), Brian (Sheila), Debbie, Ron (Christine), Rob (Mary), Tom, Grace, Melinda and Dan. Son of the late Thomas Kelly and Mary Sloan. Brother of Darlene, Clifford (Claire), Doris (David Langdon), Eleanor and Lloyd. Predeceased by his son John and by his brothers Mayno, Andrew, Eric, Leo and Ryburn. Brother-in-law of the late Helen (the late Linus Hearty), Jean (Gerald Shane) and Emmett (Merit). Proud grandfather of Christine, Jennifer, Chris, Elisha, Chanel, Megan, Erin, John, Nathan, Samantha and Ryan. Great-grandfather of Bryanna, Sydney, Kelly and Adam. Thomas will be fondly missed by his many relatives, friends and neighbours. Born in Vinton, Quebec, Thomas will always be remembered as a traditional family man who played sports and traveled with his children, and who took up downhill skiing in his 50's in order to share his family's love of the sport. He was also a noted "handy-man" who loved to pass on his skills and tools to the next generation. Thomas retired from Hilton Mines after 20 years at the age of 50. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Avenue (west of Carlingwood) Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday to St. Augustine's Church, 1060 Baseline Road, for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment in Spring 2008 at St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Vinton, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Elizabeth's Cemetery would be appreciated by Mary and the family.
