NUGENT, Shirley E. Born 1927, Montreal It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley Nugent (nee Clark) on December 16th after a short but courageous struggle with a brain tumour. Predeceased by her husband of over 56 years, Michael Nugent, she will be remembered with love and greatly missed by her daughter Jennifer (Dufour), son-in-law Paul and her grandson Mike as well as by her dear dog Mickey. Shirley's family would like to thank her good friend Edith and her neighbour Cathy for their support and kindness and also to extend their thanks for the love and support of the many relatives and friends in Richmond and across the rest of Canada and the United States. Shirley's favourite expression was live and let live and with her kind heart, generous nature and boundless compassion she lived her life well. The family would also like to thank Dr. Quelch for the compassion and the care of both Shirley and Mike and to the team on 4 North of the Richmond Hospital for their kindness. As well, thanks go to the staff and residents on 3 West of Minoru Residence where Shirley ended her journey. No flowers by request, please feel free to make a donation in Shirley's memory to the charity of your choice. A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008 in the activity room at the Gilmore Park Residence on the corner of #1 Road and Blundell in Richmond.
