Fetherstonhaugh, William Allen (Al) (WWII Veteran Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa) (City of Ottawa Firefighter - Retired) (August 25, 1919 - December 27, 2007) Peacefully while having an afternoon nap at the Perley and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre in his 89th year. Dad has gone to join his parents Ethel and Reg, his wife Betty (nee MacDonald) and daughter Gale Stone. Al is survived by his sons Glenn (Dianne), and Wayne (Lise) and son-in-law Richard Stone. Cherished grandfather of Steven Powers (Tracy), Lee Hayes (Thomas), Kevin Powers, Laurie, Joy (Blair Begbie), Jan, Gregg, Ken and Kim Fetherstonhaugh, and great-grandfather of Tavis, Bryson and Ariah Hayes and Lindsay and Kaitlyn Powers. Dear brother of Roy (Dora), Ormand, Andrew and brother-in-law of Stewart McVey. He will also be missed by his fishing and hunting buddies. His sense of humour set the tone for many gatherings with family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt Ave) on Sunday and Monday December 30th and 31st from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Legion service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 7 p.m.. Funeral service at the Perley and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre chapel on Wednesday January 2nd at 1 p.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens.
