JOYCE, BLANCHE CECILIA - The death of Blanche Joyce, wife of the late Charles Joyce, occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, December 22, 2007. She was born on July 7, 1913 in McAdam, NB to the late Charles and Mary (Ward) Poertner. Beside being a loving wife and mother, Blanche worked at Scovill's Department Store for 10 years. She is survived by three sons, Ian (Mary) of Quispamsis, NB, Paul of Saint John, NB and Neil (Hansa) of Branford, ON; four daughters, Mary Ruth (Michael) Flood of Markam, ON, Lynn (Harold) Roberts of Bocabec, NB, Judith (James) DiPaolo and Mary "Catherine" (Frank Murphy) Joyce both of Fredericton, NB; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Blanche was predeceased by her brother, Charles and sisters Kathleen Mossmann and Mary Poertner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Ann's Parish on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11 am. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery following the mass.
