Charles Ross Turvey January 14, 1937 - April 10, 2004 TURVEY, C. Ross - 68, Bedford, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 10, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born January 14, 1937 in Simcoe, Ontario, he was a son of the late Roy and Ivah (Culver) Turvey. Ross was a championship diver and was very active in musical theatre at the community and provincial level. Prior to moving to Nova Scotia, he was a volunteer firefighter in Simcoe, Ontario. Ross is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, the former Darlyne Melvin; daughters, Dawn (Roger) Lohnes, Sackville; Tracy (Phillip) Ogden, Simcoe; son, Robin (Signa) Turvey, Simcoe; grandchildren, Samantha, Curtis, Kendra, Emily, and Rachel, who were the light of his life; brother, Murray “Turk” (Patricia) Turvey, Simcoe; sisters-in-law, Doreen Turvey, St. Williams, Ontario; Ivy Melvin, Halifax; Wendy (Richard) Noble, Dallas, Texas; several special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Keith, Malcolm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, with visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and funeral service 1 p.m. Wednesday, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Interment at a later date in Simcoe. Family flowers only or a donation in Ross’ memory to the Cobequid Multi-Service Centre Emergency Room, 70 Memory Lane, Lower Sackville, NS, B4C 2J3 would be appreciated.
