SMITH, ANNIE M. - The death of Annie M. Smith of Hampton, widow of Garnet "Pete" Smith, occurred December 27, 2007 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton. She was born in Penobsquis, daughter of the late Frank and Marion (McLeod) Morton. Annie was a Life Member of Mildred Law Women's Missionary Society. She was a Board Member of the Canadian Bible Society and Past President of Upham Branch, Canadian Bible Society. She taught Sunday school and was Secretary/Treasurer at Smithtown United Baptist Church. Annie and Pete operated a stall in the Saint John City Market in the 1960's and 1970's. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Smith, Smithtown; two sisters, Margaret Briggs, Bayfield, and Rilla Doney, Sussex; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Marjorie Robinson and one brother Jack Morton. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation Friday, 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral will be held Saturday, 1:00 pm at Smithtown United Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon Simons officiating. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery, Penobsquis in the spring.
