BLOUIN, Georges-Henri , B.A., L.L.B. 1921 - 2007 Georges Blouin est décédé paisiblement à la résidence Riverpark Place, Ottawa, le jeudi 27 décembre à l'âge de 86 ans. Prédécédé par son épouse bien-aimée Denise (Angers), sa soeur Madeleine et son frère Louis-Paul. Père de Pierre (Sarale), Micheline (Iain) Glendinning et Michael Joseph. Grand-père de Katherine (William Gravley), Andrew Glendinning et Nitzan, Gil, Ron et Dean Blouin. Arrière-grand-père de Sean et Liam Gravley. Ancien diplomate, il a été sous-ministre adjoint au ministère des affaires étrangères et du commerce international de 1949 à 1986. Il a oeuvré aussi à New Delhi, San Francisco, Athènes, Bruxelles et Washington, de plus, il occupa le poste d'ambassadeur au Cameroun, en Espagne, au Maroc et au Pays-Bas. À la fin de sa carrière, il fut nommé chef protocolaire du gouvernement du Canada et en 1987, il fut affecté au poste de conseiller principal "au secrétaire canadien de la Reine” lors des visites officielles de sa Majesté. Le service funéraire aura lieu en la chapelle centrale de Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 315, rue McLeod, Ottawa le jeudi 3 janvier 2008 à 14 h 30; la famille y recevra parents et amis et une réception suivra immédiatement. L'inhumation sera privée. Au lieu de fleurs, pour ceux qui le désirent, des dons à la Société Alzheimer d'Ottawa-Carleton, 1750, rue Russell, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 5Z6, ou à une oeuvre de charité de votre choix seraient grandement appréciés. Predeceased by his loving wife Denise (Angers), sister Madeleine and brother Louis-Paul. Father of Pierre (Sarale), Micheline (Iain) Glendinning and Michael Joseph. Grandfather of Katherine (William) Gravley, Andrew Glendinning and Nitzan, Gil, Ron and Dean Blouin. Great-Grandfather to Sean and Liam Gravley. Former diplomat and Assistant Deputy Minister in the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade from 1949 to 1986. Served abroad in New Delhi, San Francisco, Athens, Brussels and Washington, D.C and as Ambassador to the Republic of Cameroon, the Kingdom of Spain, the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. At the end of his career was appointed Chief of Protocol of the Canadian Government and, in 1987, adviser to the Canadian Secretary to the Queen during her Majesty's official visit to Canada. A Funeral Service will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, on Thursday, January 3rd, 2008 at 2:30 p.m., immediately followed by a reception. Private Interment.
